Dear Lenore and Tony,

A little more than three years ago, after visiting numerous other preschool and Montessori programs, I was lucky enough to 'find' Lefferts Garden Montessori.

I didn't know what to expect when I made an appointment with Lenore to learn more about the school, but when I walked in I was pleased with what I saw -- a well-kept classroom with a wide array of activities for the children and children actively engaged and having fun with their work. After spending some time talking with Lenore, I knew I had finally found the place where I would be comfortable leaving my daughter.

In the three years that my daughter has spent at Lefferts Garden Montessori, I have watched her blossom. When she started at two, I was worried about her speech. With the help of LGM, she is now an articulate five year old who often reminds her older brother that he needs to 'project'!

You have managed to attract staff that provides an atmosphere that is very warm and nurturing. Thank you for creating an environment where parents are welcome to linger, to read books, or to do other activities with their child and other children. Thank you for creating a place where my daughter has enjoyed her interactions with her classmates and where she counts her teachers as her friends. My daughter has had fun doing 'her work' and she has developed a love for learning.

When my daughter starts at her new school in September, my hope is that we will be lucky enough to be in an environment that is as educationally rich and nurturing as Lefferts Garden Montessori.

I wish you all well as Lefferts Garden Montessori starts a new chapter with its expansion at 527 Rogers.
