Dear Parents/Guardians,
Recently there have been reported cases of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in the Brooklyn school district. This bacterial infection, often called staph is resistant to certain antibiotics.
While LGM has had NO case of MRSA, we wanted to share information about this staph infection with you as well as practical advice on preventive measures we can take together to prevent this infection.
MRSA is usually manifested by skin infections such as a pimple and boils which may be red, swollen, and painful and have pus or other drainage. MRSA is usually transmitted by direct skin-to skin contact.

Please know that our goal is to provide a sound educational experience for all of our students while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Sincerely,
Anthony Briggs
(Acting) Head of School
