Visit our LGM
Montessori Store where you'll find Montessori books, toys, & games. Your
purchase(s) support our school. A young child's mind is like a garden in spring-time: full of seedlings and the promise of wonderful things to come.
When the garden's soil is enriched with a bounty of nutrients and clean water, when it is cultivated and tilled . . . in short, when
the environment is properly prepared and lovingly maintained, the seedlings thrive and grow into hardy, vigorous plants.
Our mission at the Lefferts Gardens Montessori School is to nurture the blossoming of your child.

If you’re seeking a program for your two to six year old child, you probably will base your final decision on:
But there’s something else to consider – do you want a program that fully embraces the developmental opportunities inherent in this period of your child’s life or do you simply want a day care center? The two are not the same.
LGM is an independent, child-centered school for 2-6 year old children. As a Montessori school, we are different from a day care center or conventional pre-school. We offer fertile ground for planting the seeds of self-directed learning in your young child using the methods developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.
Learn about the difference for yourself. Read our section on a Montessori education. Read about our school and our Testimonial Page. Come visit Lefferts Gardens Montessori (location and map). Call Anthony Briggs at (718) 773-7478 to make arrangements.
We offer two programs at Lefferts Gardens Montessori: Montessori Year and Summer Camp:
Our current 2007-2008 Montessori Year consists of two full day classes for 2-6 year olds. The year parallels a normal school year from September to June. Applications are accepted year-round and children are placed in one of our two classrooms as long as space is available.
We will be announcing our plans for September 2008 soon.
For more information and application forms, please visit our Montessori Year page.
Our Summer Camp runs from July through August. Visit our Summer Camp page for information and an application form.
Please consider input from our Testimonial Page in your deliberations.
